My Journey

A young woman with long brown hair, wearing a colorful patterned t-shirt and jeans, leaning against a large tree with her eyes closed and smiling, enjoying sunlight in a park or forest setting.

I’m originally from Rhode Island and have been living in Oregon for the past eight years. My background is in caregiving for, and teaching, children and young adults with developmental disabilities. This work taught me how to meet people exactly where they are—with respect, adaptability, and care and these qualities continue to shape how I show up as a doula.

I came to doula work during the height of the pandemic, though it had been calling to me for years. I immediately fell in love with the deep presence, connection, and reverence this work asks of me. Around the same time, I took a Reiki course designed for birth workers, and it clicked. The connection between energy work, nervous system regulation, and physiological birth felt profound. Practicing self-Reiki helped me slow down, tune into the felt sense of my body, and reconnect with my intuition. I knew then that Reiki was a powerful tool I wanted to share with others—especially to support people during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

For me, birth work and energy work are both deeply connected to collective healing and social change. Supporting people at the origins of life, at such a deeply transformative time, is world-shifting work. When someone is affirmed in their autonomy, attuned to their own wisdom, and surrounded by compassionate care, it doesn’t just change one birth or one healing journey. It strengthens families, challenges oppressive systems, and shapes the culture future generations are born into.

Outside of work, I love tending to my garden, making a good cup of tea, and enjoying my partner’s amazing cooking. Nothing makes me happier than a good scone, so I’m often catching up with a friend at a local bakery. Other things that bring me joy include watching the LOTR trilogy, listening to some good music and of course being Auntie Kiki to my niece and nephew.
